PST: We received about 10 PST helpdesk tickets in January. There were some issues with the ECT. MarkClaussen reported that version 17A was released instead of version 17B, and some of the planned updated in 17B were not working. This was first noticed internally and then by one of our users. The current status is that the 17B version is now in production and the ECT is mostly working correctly. There are some erroneous messages about confusion that still exist. MarkClaussen has added text to the documentation that these should be ignored. We discussed reasons for these problems and lessons learned. It is not entirely clear why the wrong version was in production. StephanWitz suggested that we have some new software developers that are getting up to speed and we have different models to deploy versions. They are working to make this more consistent. RickLively suggested we should perform a sanity check on the ECT, as we do for the PST, once it is released. We agreed this was a good idea.
Account: We received 40 Account helpdesk tickets in January. GarethHunt reported that we have not reduced the number of Account tickets; there were 14 who could not find their institution (even though it existed). The software updates to improve this did help some people but not as many as hoped. There was a discussion of how to proceed in the future. Since the institutions are no longer used for the review process should we work so hard to keep them up-to-date. Should we just let them deteriorate? Make some additional software changes? Key off the address instead of the institution? We also discussed how to deal with an amateur who does not have a working institution. They cannot register without an institution. GarethHunt reported that in the past they have used an amateur institution. We discussed if we should have a button that points them to no institution. Regardless we have to allow them to register.
GBT: No major issues on the GBT side. DavidFrayer reported that they tend to receive more emails about the science that are not sent to the helpdesk. There have been some problems navigating the new GBO web pages since they are designed for EPO and have less content. Too they are still directed to NRAO pages which can be confusing. Basically some growing pains.
PST Review Items. RickLively reported on three tickets:
Copy Reviewers. There is a bug when copying reviewers from previous semesters. This was put off until 18A since we have already updated the 18A reviewers. RickLively will write a script to perform this task for 17B and 18A. We need to carefully debug this problem since it is connected to VLA configurations; that is, we needed to setup 18A before the 17B deadline because of how we use this information to define valid VLA configurations.
Multiple SRP members. There is a bug where reviewers are listed twice if there are two panels. RickLively will start working on this item and DanaBalser will test it.
Source Page. There is a typo on the source page. Should be trivial to fix.
PHT Requirements. No action.
SRP Recruitment. MarkClaussen reported that there is only one vacancy remaining which is in AGN. We have broadened the location of reviewers beyond this hemisphere by adding some folks from Europe. This was restricted in the past since we were worried about scheduling the telcons, but we have communicated to these reviewers that the telecons may be scheduled during their evening and they are okay with it. The female fraction is 17/48 which is an improvement over past semesters. DavidFrayer reported many rejections for NGA (9 out of 10). A handful were willing to do it in the future; he will update the google doc. LewisBall will also update the google doc for the TAC and will formally thank our external recruiter.
