  • 18A
    • CfP. The NRAO and LBO templates have been created by DavisMurphy. The text should be finalized by COB on 26 June 2017. No major changes to the VLA or VLBA. Significant updates are being made to the VLA OSS. ToneyMinter reports that they will be migrating info from science.nrao.edu to the GBO website; otherwise everything should be fine for the GBO CfP. The CfP is 30 June 2017.
    • PST Status. RickLively reports that most items are in good shape. Here are some specific issues that were discussed.
      • Source Import. To accommodate VLASS an update to the source import format is desired that will include groups. To keep the import/export software consistent we need to make changes in the PST. This was not previously on the list of items for 18A for the PST and we agreed if possible this should be delayed until after the 18A deadline. RickLively will investigate the timescale and converge on whether this is necessary or not by the end of this week. If implemented for 18A it needs to be carefully tested.
      • Max Elevation. A ticket to check for the maximum elevation in Sessions This has not yet been completed. This is straight forward for the VLA and GBT, but less so for the VLBA/GMVA. This will be done at validation.
      • LST Min/Max. A ticket to improve the UI for calculating the LST range in Sessions. Almost done. It has been difficult to really improve the UI without a lot of extra work. The current plan is to add comments to inform the user that when they make changes (e.g., change source group), they have to re-calculate the LST range; this cannot easily be done automatically in the software.
      • Testing. LorantSjouwerman and ToneyMinter will perform some tests for the VLA and GBT, respectively.
      • MUSTANG2. There will not be any technical reviews for MUSTANG2 in 18A. We already have software in place to handle such cases for the VLA/VLBA and we need to include the GBT. This should be straight forward. We need this completed before we release proposals for review.
    • SRP/TAC Recruitment. DanaBalser reported that JayLockman has agreed to continue to recruit but will do so now for EGS and ISM. MarkClaussen will take the remaining SRPs and LewisBall will recruit TAC members. There was some discussion about how best to find pulsar experts to review proposals that do not have so many conflicts. Some suggestions were people from Europe, X-ray pulsar experts, and FRB experts.
  • AOB
    • User's Committee. BryanButler reported that the PST got high priority as the next big software project.
    • Joint Proposals. BryanButler advocated that we push for a common format to exchange proposal info for joint external proposals. Currently we have to input this info manually into the different telescope systems and this can be labor intensive. This is not a new topic and we discussed past efforts. We developed and implemented a mechanism to import information in the PST manually for joint external proposals. The goal was that if we do this in the PST the info would be propagated to the tools downstream in a consistent way. But this had some problems and it was very labor intensive to get all of the info into the PST. Also, BarryClark developed an XML schema that we proposed to the other observatories but this was rejected. Basically they did not want to develop new software but use the current methods of transferring information. DanaBalser will discuss this with LewisBall. There was also a brief discussion about the success of these joint external programs.
