  • 22A
    • TAC Meeting Postmortem. DanaBalser summarized the salient points from the postmortem.
      • Two AGN SRPs. Given the large load in the AGN SRP, the TAC suggested we create two parallel AGN SRPs instead of dividing the AGN science into two different SRPs. The TTA group felt that dividing the AGN SRP into two different science areas was a better solution. Maybe real AGN (high resolution) and radio galaxies. We expect 22B to be a lighter load for AGN since only the VLA C-configuration is available. The plan is to recommend how to divide the AGN into two science areas and propose this to the TAC with a goal of potentially implementing a solution in 23A.
      • New SRP Chairs. The TAC suggested we (1) hold a new SRP chair meeting to help new chairs; and (2) provide more detailed information in the SRP introduction given at the start of the first SRP meeting.
      • Magnetars. The TAC considered whether Magnetar science should be put in the GWT SRP since the current trend is that they are related to FRBs. The TAC felt this was premature.
      • Gender. There was some concern by the TAC that we might overburden woman SRP/TAC members by recruiting more women on our panels. Since the goal is that the SRP/TAC panels should reflect the community demographics, and not 50-50, this should not be an issue.
      • VLA Prioritizer. The TAC suggested we provide more detailed information about the Prioritizer to the general community. The plan is to add these details in the TAC report which is linked to the disposition letters.
      • TAC Meeting. The TAC discussed how we could compress the TAC meeting. The general consensus was that we should keep the current format but move more quickly for those proposals that require little discussion (e.g., highly ranked proposals at the start of the TAC meeting).
    • Directors' Review. DanaBalser reported that all TAC materials have been collected and that he will send out the agenda sometime today. We breifly discussed a trend over the last few semesters where the VLBA pressure is increasing and the GBT pressure is decreasing. The increase for the VLBA appears to be mostly related to an increase in requested hours that are partly being executed in future semesters. The decrease for the GBT appears to be mostly due to a decline in low frequency proposals.
  • 22B
    • SRP/TAC Recruitment. MarkClaussen reported that we have 13 SRP members and two TAC members to recruit. Not much done at this stage but AmyMioduszewski reported that she had one invitation rejected.
