Agenda

  • 20A
    • Helpdesk Tickets. DanaBalser reported that we received a handful of PST helpdesk tickets over the last week; no major issues. AnandCrossley reported that there was a pickup in the Account helpdesk tickets but this is expected.
    • PST Review Requirements. RickLively reported that we have completed testing on several review items and these will be released sometime before 7 August when we release proposals for review. He will work on the Account ticket involving gender for potential release near the time of the SRP telecons.
    • SRP Recruitment. MarkClaussen repored that the 20A recruitment is now complete. The gender distribution is reasonable. The recruitment was difficult but typical. We agreed that we should start the 20B recruitment as soon as possible since there will be more vacancies.
  • Extra-Large Proposals. DanaBalser summarized the plans for the initial review of X-proposals. Some comments:
    • MarkClaussen questioned the level of the technical review. The plan is to have a typical technical review, plus a scheduling component, that will be given to the SRP. A more rigorous technical assessment will occur later that will incude data management, etc.
    • MarkClaussen was concerned about the timeline. The plan is that the process is similar to regular proposals where the science panel can view the technical review during their discussion. It is not clear whether or not the X-proposals will be more complex and therefore more difficult to review. BryanButler suggested we could have more than one reviewer to ease the load and provide more extertise, given the scheduling component.
    • LorantSjouwerman suggested that it would be best to provide feedback to PIs that do not make the first cut by the 20B CfP so that they can submit a 20B proposal.
    • ToneyMinter felt that we need to develop the timeline soon to help with planning.
    • AnandCrossley suggested we create a new proposal type called Extra-Large. RickLively worried that this may have unintended consequences. Related to this is dealing with the pressure plots for 20B properly. That is, we have to account for this time.
    • BarryClark suggested we keep the X-proposals in the review system until just before we finalize the scores and then remove them. This had been discussed earlier and RickLivley felt this would be troublesome in the software.
  • AOB
    • New TTA Software: LorantSjouwerman asked if X-proposals were being considered for the new software. Yes.
    • Next TTA Meeting: Given the 20A deadline next Thursday, the TTA meeting on 1 August is canceled. The next TTA meeting is 8 August.
