  • SRP Meetings. DanaBalser reported that 9 of 10 SRPs have finalized their reviews. Once the last SRP is finalized he will move the PST into the next review stage and linearize the scores. He will let the TTA list know when this is done sp the schedulers can start to prepare for the TAC meeting.
  • TAC Meeting
    • Large Proposal Meeting. DanaBalser reported that the Large proposal meeting has been cancelled since there are only two VLA Large proposals. We will discuss the 2 VLA Large proposals at the regular TAC meeting.
    • TAC Meeting. The plan is release materials to the TAC on 12 October 2022 for the TAC meeting on 17-18 October 2022.

  • PST Requirements. AllieCosta started the discussion about what to do about GOST. We agreed that the GOST issue, which may be significant effort, be separated out from the nominal 2 week (10 days) allotted time from SSA.
    • GOST. To summarize, GOST is currently in Java 8 and when the OPT moves to Java 11 then GOST, which uses the OPT model codebase, will need to be updated. So there are four options that were discussed.
      1. Update GOST from Java 8 to Java 11. This update would be done by NMS and not SSA.
      2. Put GOST or RCT v2.0 functionality into the PST (SSA-7615, SSA-7616). Basically replace GOST by putting similar functionality in the PST directly. CharlotteHausman crudely estimated 3 weeks effort but needs more information. GOST and the RCT have a model of WIDAR and at least part of this functionality must be incorporated into the PST. It was not clear, for example, if the PST would need to be run in Java 11 or not. We agreed that CharlotteHausman would work with MichaelBrice (and others) to better assess the effort and risk required.
      3. Use the RCT instead of GOST (SSA-6904). Attach a screen shot of the RCT output to the PST. The time estimate if 5 days. The risk is a steep learning curve for users during the proposal deadline.
      4. Use open web start with GOST to emulate Java 11. StephanWitz demonstrated that GOST can open in Java 11 but this would need to be tested.
    • Below are other Major items to be considered in the two week (10 days) allotted time. There is still some time for other items.
      • SSA-7479 23B CfP Joint ALMA and VLA Proposals. This still requires input. AnthonyRemijan will add the VLA configuration constraints. This may take 1-2 Days.
      • SSA-7548 Remove SOPHIA as an available telescope for joint proposals. 1 Day.
      • SSA-7315 New GBT VEGAS Mode for Baseband Recording. 5 Days.
