  • 23A
    • Deadline Postmortem. DanaBalser summarized the helpdesk tickets: 24 in proposing department and 69 in account department (20:80 password rest:institution breakdown). There were two tickets that required PST work: (34437) Uploading png file made in GOST and (34675) Unable to Select CCB as Backend. A quick fix was made for 34437, whereas we plan to fix 34675 in 23B. We did receive a few duplicate emails but no major issues. The my.nrao.edu server did reach a load of 8 twice on the last day but no major problems with performance were reported. HeidiMedlin noted that often during the proposal deadline the OPT is slow but for 23A the server was okay. EmmanuelMomjian said we should discuss the removal of GOST for 23B and that a new version of the RCT is under developement. We also discussed two new tickets that came in this morning.
      • 34753: ToneyMinter noted that this issue has been around for a while and is more of a feature than a bug. He will consider whether or not to submit a JIRA ticket.
      • 34752: We agreed that we will not withdraw this proposal since the review process has already started. DanaBalser will respond.
    • Individual Review
      • Science. DanaBalser reported that 5 of the 10 SRPs have declared their conflicts and assigned reviewers. Only two SRPs have not declared their conflicts.
      • Technical Review. MarkClaussen and ToneyMinter both reported no known issues thus far for the VLA/VBLA and GBT, respectively.
  • Joint EHT Proposals. We discussed the merits of having a joint program between EHT and NRAO/GBO. The EHT is not like other observatories and therefore does not really fit into the structure of our other joint programs. The EHT is more like GMVA than say HST. But we might be able to use the new ALMA-VLA joint program to connect to EHT. AnthonyRemijan will investigate. He will also bring up the issue of double jeopardy when ALMA is included as a station for GMVA. In particular, there are two issues: (1) relax the requirement to submit a proposal to the ALMA TAC; and (2) allow both GMVA sessions to be scheduled. We also discussed joint programs with NICER. This was considered for the GBT a while back but no agreement was signed. This might be a good program for the VLA as well. AnthonyRemijan will investigate.
