Interactive Services OpenSky should release the PST test version today for the upcoming release on 6 January 2012 for the next proposal cycle. Mostly minor items. New this cycle is to enforce that users be registered in the NRAO users database if they are included on a proposal. That is, no more stub accounts.

Interactive Services The call for proposals was sent out on 30 June along with a new release of the PST for the 1 August 2011 deadline. Major changes included a new GBT spectrometer (VEGAS), a new GBT sensitivity calculator, and a RSRO program for the VLBA. We are currently working on upgrades to the review process based on feedback from last cycle.

ALMA Revision 8.03 is being rolled out in Chile. The primary change is to the ASDM.
The next Critical Design Review (CRD9) is over the July 4 weekend.
Archives There is a new tool to support download of large data sets to hard disks for export shipment.
CASA Release 3.2 is now ready, albeit one month late. Since lateness is regrettably routine, JeffKern is looking into streamlining the release procedure.
The new release of ASDM (see ALMA) is 1.3. Still need to support 1.2, and to ensure backward compatibility for (especially EVLA) data in the archive.
CIS There is a test network speed-test meter in Green Bank.
The NRAO papers utility is scheduled for release in July.
EVLA Version 1.09 of the OPT was released on May 10. This was the last of the technical releases related to speeding up database access.
GBT Amy's successors have been named: MarkClark and JoeBrandt
HPC As an outcome of the IDIA meeting in Green Bank, there will be a BoF session at ADASS in Paris. We are pursuing graphical apps with Oak Ridge, LOFAR, etc. We are also investigating HDFI disk storage/access with LOFAR and the providers.
Interactive Services The PST mirror has not been updating for a while. StephanWitz will look into adding a Nagios alert for this. DavidHalstead will identify a back-up for Stephan that is available for contact when Stephan is not available.
During the last few months, new utilities were added to the PST to support the proposal evaluation process. The individual Science Review Panels went reasonably well. The Time Allocation Committee was not so smooth. Feedback from the committee will be fed into the specifications for additional PST development.
Management
Pipelines Almost ready to put VLBA pipeline products into the archive.
VAO Doug is in Naples this week for the spring IVOA workshop (and is typing this in after the meeting while sipping a beer and looking out over the mediterranean).
ObsTAP is in RFC (final stage for an IVOA standard). Doug, Mark Lacy, and Felix Stoehr exchanged information on ALMA-VAO coordination.
VLBA
Web Plone installed and working on science.nrao.edu
Refactoring of staff.nrao.edu coming (MarkAdams)
Test FOSWiki install coming soon
The top level of the new EPO website will not be in plone.

Interactive Services All 8 Scientific Review Panels (SRPs) successfully completed their review last week. We are now working on preparing for the Telescope Allocation Committee (TAC) meeting on 28-30 April in Socorro. Much of the heavy lifting (e.g., source conflicts) will be performed outside the PST for this cycle. This week we continue to test the PST TAC review functionality for release to the TAC members on 22 April.

Interactive Services The eight Science Review Panels (SRP) reviewing the proposals submitted for the present cycle meet this week. This is in preparation for a unified Time Allocation Committee meeting on 28-30 April 2011. The Proposal Submission Tool (PST) software to support the SRP panel meetings was tested last week.
CASA Version 3.2 is on track for an 15 April 2011 release date. The targets for version 3.3 should be available in a week or so.
Pipelines (See Archives)
Good progress is being made on defining VO-related archive metadata (ObsTAP etc.).
Archives JohnBenson, BillCotton, and JaredCrossley have agreed on the protocol to describe the submission of complicated file sets to the archive using the VOTable protocol: in this instance for VLBA pipeline data products.
GBT Most recent update on GBT development - CommissioningMeeting11Apr01
ALMA The most recent freeze date was last Friday; may actually be able to do it by this Friday.
VAO The second VAO team meeting was in Tucson last week; upcoming: IVOA interop in Madrid in May, VAO year 2 program planning goes forward in July.
VAO There has been progress on the VAO portal. One of the major projects for the next development cycle is for desktop integration; this will use the Simple Application Messaging Protocol (SAMP).
Management There were 40 submissions in response to the call for New Development Proposals. This number is just the number of technical development proposals. Operational proposals are not included in this count. So the number of competing proposals for whatever resources might become available are more than this.
EVLA We're working on version 1.09 of the OPT. This version will dramatically cut the number of SQL statements created by our object-relational mapping software (Hibernate) and should further speed up data access. The main new feature will be support for the new scheduling prioritization scheme.
