EVLA/VLBA/GBT Resources
NRAO Interactive Services Modification Request 1 S1 2012
1. Introduction
Any changes to the telescope specific resources
2. Background
3. Requirements
EVLA
- Convey total bandwidth on the EVLA cover page for OSRO Modes. The text should be: "Total Bandwidth: BW MHz" where BW is the total bandwidth. Since each OSRO mode has two independently tunable basebands, each with 8 sub-bands then BW = 16xsub-band bandwidth. The only exception is for OSRO2 where BW will equal the sub-band bandwidth.
- Remove "move" selections from Configuration drop-down menu in VLA Resources: D=>DnC, DnC=>C, C=>CnB, CnB=>B, B=>BnA, BnA=>A, A=>D.
VLBA
- Aggregate bit rate needs to be passed to pdf of proposal.
- Aggregate bit rate of 1024 Mbps needs to be disallowed with a pop-up warning.
- User-selected stations need to be passed to pdf of proposal.
GBT
- Receivers
- W-band Shared Risk (68-92 GHz): The frequency range for this receiver is now 67-93.3 GHz but broken up into different ranges (similar to the Ka-band receiver). In resources please replace "W-band Shared Risk (68-92 GHz)" with the following four selections:
- W-band MM1 (67-73.5 GHz) (default 70.0 GHz)
- W-band MM2 (73.5-80.5 GHz) (default 75.0 GHz)
- W-band MM3 (80.5-85.5 GHz) (default 82.0 GHz)
- W-band MM4 (85.5-93.3 GHz) (default 90.0 GHz)
- Ku-band (12 - 15.4 GHz): This receiver is being modified and is now a shared risk receiver. Please replace the name "Ku-band (12-15.4 GHz)" with "Ku-band Shared Risk (12-18 GHz)".
- Add a new receiver called "C-band (5.85-8 GHz)" with a default frequency of 7.0 GHz. So now there will be two C-band receivers: "C-band (5.85-8 GHz)" and "C-band (3.95-5.85 GHz)"
- GBT XML File. We do not want this to change so please make sure of the following:
- The selection of any of the four W-band receivers will be called "W-band Shared Risk (68-92 GHz)" in the XML file.
- The selection of "Ku-band Shared Risk (12-18 GHz)" will be called "Ku-band (12-15.4 GHz)" in the XML file.
- The selection of either C-band receiver ["C-band (5.85-8 GHz)" or "C-band (3.95-5.85 GHz)"] will be called "C-band (3.95-5.85 GHz)" in the XML file.
- Resource validation. Please contact MikeMcCarty (mmccarty@nrao.edu or 304-456-2128) for information about better error checking of GBT resources. Mike has some code from the sensitivity calculation that might be of use.
4. Design
Technical lead should provide a brief description of how this will be implemented in the code.
5. Deployment Checklist
Documentation? Systems/hardware/networking things needed for deployment?
6. Test Plan
6.1 Internal Testing
6.3 Integration/Regression Tests
