Definition of Single Dish imaging: Putting flux density measured (by a dish) as a function of direction on an image.
Depending on resolution of the dish, pixel size and raster sampling interpolation is usually needed to make a scientifically usable image. Typically we do interpolation by convolution (a choice of convolution functions are available e.g delta, pillbox, Gaussian, Gaussian-Jinc, primary beam, spheroidal).
