News / Meetings / Visitors

  • CASA 5.5 Development page is up
    • Dates should be solid
    • Stakeholder meeting is still TBD
    • Development items are very preliminary placeholders
    • Trying to minimize work fragmentation across tickets/branches this time around
    • Action for developers:
      1. Condense old tickets on related tasks in to single 5.5 development ticket
      2. Close old tickets
      3. Make single branch for all related work in 5.5
  • Plone evolution for 5.5
    • Discontinue offline documentation (excepting the task parameter listing)
    • Move to new theme and organizational layout for online documentation
    • Begin regular design documentation and review of development items in Design section

  • pipeline code freeze is in effect for 5.4.0 relrease
    • asked vlass and vla groups to wrap up tests
    • alma imaging pipeline is in final round of testing
    • no major issue report from alma E2E tests

  • CASA Docs (Development Server v. 5.4.1): Need to decide when to switch to new theme.
  • CASA Newsletter, publication date October 11. Contributions welcome, deadline Oct 1st. See CAS-11750
    • Need article on status of mosaic problems(?) (e.g., CAS-11653, CAS-11816, CAS-11271, ARD-8)

Verification Testing

Validation Testing

Tasks added since the last meeting:
ft gaincal gencal hanningsmooth imcollapse imcontsub imdev
imfit impbcor importasap importance importfitsidi importgmrt importnro
importvla impv imrebin imreframe imregrid imsmooth imtrans
imval initweights listcal listfits listhistory listobs listpartition
listasdm listvis makemask polcal predictcomp rerefant rmfit
rmtables sdbaseline sdcal sdfit sdfixscan sdgaincal sdimaging
sdsmooth feather simobserve simanalyze simalma statwt uvcontsub

Tasks which have no unittest:
accor blcal fringefit importuvfits uvsub specsmooth imsubimage
delmod clearcal importfits exportfits ft imdev importgmrt
impv imrebin imreframe listsdm polcal rerefant rmfit
rmtables feather simobserve simanalyze simalma uvmodelfit widebandpbcor

Tasks which have a test that is not in Python unittest format:
listcal polcal accum

Tasks which have failing unit test:
bandpass flagdata gaincal imhead immath immoments imsmooth
mstransform partition sdbaseline sdfixscan sdimaging sdsmooth setjy
specflux split tclean

Tasks which have a unittest that seems to pass (imval has at least one sub-test that appears to succeed but is actually broken in both CASA 5 and CASA 6):
applycal asdmsummary calstat clearstat concat conjugatevis cvel
cvel2 exportasdm fixplanets fixvis flagcmd flagmanager fluxscale
gencal hanningsmooth imcollapse imcontsub imfit imhistory impbcor
importasap importasdm importatca importfitsidi importnro importvla imregrid

listpartition listvis makemask predictcomp sdcal sdfit sdgaincal
slsearch smoothcal specfit splattotable spxfit statwt uvcontsub
virtualconcat vishead visstat
So we have 99 bottles tasks and 69 unit tests (52 of which pass).

Finally for completeness, we have 34 tools:
agentflagger atcafiller atmosphere calanalysis calibrater componentlist coordsys
functional image imagemetadata imagepol imager iterbotsink logsink
measures ms msmetadata mstransformer quanta regionmanager sakura
sdm simulator singledishms spectralline synthesisdeconvolver synthesisimager synthesisimstore
synthesisnormalizer synthesisutils table utils vlafiller vpmanager

with 90 tests; all pass. However, these 12 tools have no unittest:
imagemetadata mstransformer imager synthesisimager synthesisdeconvolver spectralline vpmanager
singledishms vlafiller atcafiller sakura simulator
