Developer Reports

Monday Meeting
  • Sanjay Bhatnagar
    • Ran predict in parallel, fixing locks
  • Sandra Castro
    • Re-discussed the POLARIZATION table creation in JIRA. It's been agreed that it's easier if we don't re-index it and assign CORR_TYPE to [0] when it's not selected.
    • Added mpi support in ParallelDataHelper so that mstransform (and derived tasks) can automatically use either simple_cluster or mpirun. Committed to r31264.
    • Looked at the problem reported by the tester on split2 (CAS-6178). It might be the same problem of the POLARIZATION table bug which will be solved soon.
    • Looked at some problems reported by Sanjay on mstransform/MMS.
    • Finishing up the MMS document.
  • Lindsey Davis
  • Pam Ford
    • Still working on same bug
  • Kumar Golap
    • Mosaic in t-Clean, looking into speed issue.
  • Justo Gonz├ílez Villalba
    • Issue fixing.
    • Open MPI Installation
  • Jim Jacobs
    • Worked on implementing a state mechanism built on top of the PureWeb state facility.
  • Jeff Kern
    • UVA prep / travel
  • Susan Loveland
    • Squashed a few Viewer and PlotMS bugs.
    • Worked on Carta GUI.
  • David Mehringer
    • Asked that, upon catastrophic Jenkins test failures, Jenkins could be configured not to send an email out for each failed test, and asked that this be a requirement of the new build/test system. It's a waste of resources to have to delete all these useless emails. For this failure, I had to delete at least 50.
    • (CAS-6354) Rewrite ImageAnalysis::getFreqProfile(). Investigated mismatches in 4.2.1 viewer and current viewer results. Passed on defect to Susan who fixed it quickly.
    • Implemented verbose parameter in ImageRegrid::regrid() re CAS-6918 A way to avoid a log
      message from ImageRegrid::regrid()
    • Responded to Jim's questions re: my design for the stats framework. Explained again that I really desire feedback from team members who would be using it and that now is the best time to provide that feedback since, if I code it up and people then realize they do not like it and do not want to use it, it's a waste of project resources. It would be good if those with a vested interest would actively participate in the design process. If this is not possible, management should re-evaluate the cost/benefit of this project vs the risk that it will not be well used.
    • CAS-6954 imhead fails to put new value in FITS header, no error message: Added error messages and updated docs, re: write modes used for read-only (FITS) images.
  • George Moellenbrock
    • Fixes to WEIGHT_SPECTRUM applycal deploy: (a) geometry-dependent calibrations types were not wired to the new VB2 correctly; (b) VB2-driven applycal was not triggering the write-out of flags correctly (fixed applymodes options, too)
    • Interesting discussions with Darrell and Rob on the test/stable build situation, in particular how these are deployed. Need better communication to users (e.g., @ Socorro) about just they are now getting by default, and what is available.
    • WEIGHT_SPECTRUM solve deploy work. Agreed with Jeff to have it all checked in by EOB Tues, Oct 7.
  • Dirk Petry
  • Urvashi Rao
    • Model Variability Prediction Details
    • Releasing MS locks at the end of cycles
    • Documenting wide-band mosaics with various normalization
  • Darrell Schiebel
    • Set up secondary repository
  • Rob Selina
    • Changes to workflow and screens in JIRA. See the "TEST" project if you'd like to review the changes before they are implemented for CASA.
  • Julian Taylor
  • Takahiro Tsutsumi
    • Auto-Masking
Friday NAOJ Meeting
  • Kanako Sugimoto
  • Wataru Kawasaki
  • Takeshi Nakazato
  • Shinnosuke Kawakami
