Build, Release, Testing

  • CASA 4.2 Release on OSX
    • Major issue is linkage between CASA, CUPS and anotther CASA library. Causes crashes.
    • Secondary issue is a readline library. Causes prompts to be corrupt. Cosmetic, but should be fixed given how visible the bug is.
      • Similar bug mainifests on other linux distributions such as Fedora. May be a different problem.
    • Problems in packaged versions of CASA. Do not manifest in developer builds.
    • Juergen and Adam to review OSX package in current state to parallel the testing.
  • Next test package not scheduled. Not expected within at least 2 weeks.

  • New Technical Forums:
    • April 3rd - Jim - Viewer: The Next Generation
  • Software Engineering Wiki wish list for modern compiler and C++ 11
    • March 31: Received requirements on wiki page.
    • Working on a proposal/plan for implementation.
  • Jim is collecting inputs on environmental variable setting management. Will send out an e-mail when ready.

  • 4.2 Patch Plan
    • Single Fix to the Viewer as 4.2.1 patch for summer school.
      • April 30th target for release on RHEL.
      • Same data sets will be used for the summer school. No new data sets.
      • CASA 4.2.1 Plan
    • Major patch will be 4.2.2 in anticipation of ALMA Cycle 2.
      • Branch available end of the week for development.
      • Team to provide input on plan scope and schedule.
      • Will include pipeline in release package.
      • CASA 4.2.2. Plan

  • Working on list of blockers from ALMA punch list.
  • Time to complete the work is the main concern. However, list is prioritized so it can be tackled in a reasonable order. Some changes may have to be postponed.
  • Hard acceptance criteria would be helpful for punch list completion.

  • N/A
