June 6/7 : People visiting from U.Wisconsin's Center For High Throughput Computing to make a plan for how CASA (among others) is to use their Open-Source-Grid, the first likely application being VLASS data processing (this plan originates from AUI and is un-related to ongoing CNGI efforts).
Several fixes were merged into master ~last couple of weeks. These PRs fix leaks that were hidden all over our infrastructure. The issues fixed explain ~10s GB of leaks, or >110 GB leaked memory for some ALMA pipeline datasets.
Our infrastructure (code/stdcasa, gcwrap/tools/StdCasa, gcwrap/tools) had/has issues everywhere, affecting virtually all tasks and tool functions. Examples: misuse of the Xerces API (transcode, etc.) in XML parsing (stdcasaXMLUtil), issues in the conversion between "casac record" and casacore::Record. issues in CASA tool wrappers in general, several tools frequently used in the pipeline severely affected: coordsys, image, regionmanager, imager, etc., issues in MSSelection, in imager and synthesisimager tools, casac.regionmanager, etc. See CAS-10226 for a list of recent (CAS-124XX) tickets.
Server upgrades mostly done. A handful on Linux machines still need updating.
Pending install of the new Macs. Mac Pro upgrades done.
Added 10.13 version of Casa6 tools wheel.
First "variant" pilot pushed to the download site
Remaining tasks:
Startup scripts must be modified (Juergen/CIS)
Copy current releases to the new directory tree
Publish prerelease packages to both directories until the startup script convention is complete
Update the release conversion scripts
