Agenda

This week:
  • 5.1.2 Release
    • Need Dirk to cut over channel reference fix to 5.1.x branch from trunk, may still be on vacation this week
    • Will release as soon as fix is merged to branch
  • 5.2 Release
    • Still planning release by end of January
    • Last updates on testing progress were positive
    • ESO appears to still be on vacation this week
  • CARTA requirements traceability
    • Klara starting next week
      • Has not received approval notice for visa
      • Trying to get info from USCIS
    • Plan to have Klara perform CASA Viewer to CARTA requirements traceability excercise
    • CCC identified MS viewing as first significant capabilities gap with CARTA viewer
      • Will need additional CARTA requirements, additional PlotMS capability (not preferred), or CASA viewer redesign and continued support (not preferred)
      • Discussed with CARTA team about this and will follow up down the road, perhaps Klara can handle, not an immediate priority as usage is light
  • Future HPC testing post 5.2
    • Bamboo Lustre usage needs / defense
    • Computer Resources Group is indicating that Lustre space and node usage may not be available long term for HPC/Bamboo testing
    • Action given to Darrell and Sandra to draw up more detailed plan on required processing and storage to meet overall CASA testing needs
    • Action for Ryan to follow up with Brian G. on funding/ownership of the additional four Lustre nodes currently being used by HPC testing
    • Action for Ryan to follow up with CRG on need for different OS/config of the Lustre nodes to be used by Bamboo
  • FY18 Major Milestone Dates/Planning
    • February - 5.4 requirements decisions
    • March - 5.3 Release, 5.4 development begins
    • Spring - CARTA beta release (tentative)
    • July - 5.4 internal development/fixes for pipeline complete
    • September - 5.4 Release with Pipeline

Longer Term:
  • CASA requirements specifications
  • Development/test/release paradigms for CASA vs Pipeline
    • integrated or separate build/test system?
    • integrated or separate releases / development cycles?
    • development schedules and better understanding of % complete
  • Solidifying definition of "verification" test and what is expected from it versus validation
  • Mapping requirements to verification test coverage
  • Developing / maintaining tests to fill holes in verification test coverage
  • Roll out / Evolution Plan (5.3 and beyond)
