  • Fully flagged VBs flowing through to imaging, has now been prevented.

  • Fixed small things in task flagdata and in other tests to make them compatible with running on MMSs
  • Helped Pam to make test_plotms compatible with MMS and also with different DISPLAY settings
  • Helped to debug importasdm. It's leaving 2 ephemerides tables open in the cache. The same is happening with other tasks such as flagdata. This started to happen recently, I had fixed it sometime ago.
  • Tested George's modification to MSIter to make the SORTED_TABLE available only in memory. This was also making some MMS tests fail when run in combination with non-parallelised tasks. It seems to be fixed.

  • GridFT weight gridder now nearly gives the same density distribution as VisImagingWeight (accounting for known differences...like flag handling, mirror bug (see below))
    • there is something wrong since forever ..weight density calculation has a mirror reflection bug (i.e did not take into account that RA increment is negative ..where as it is taken into account in gridding...thus the point on the other side of the y axis density is used for Brigg's or uniform style weighting..which will be minor effect for most observations except for very sparse arrays or snapshots.

  • (CAS-7327) SpectralCoordinate::frequencyToVelocity() returns nan's when rest frequency not set (rest freq = 0): Included a use case which illustrates the issue and returned assignment of the ticket to Dirk.
  • Participated in conversation regarding unit test configuration at multiple sites using different configurations and the confusion that presents to me as a developer.
  • Sought aid from Ville regarding updating libsakara on my Macbook. Thanks Ville!
  • (CAS-7589) ImageFitter segfaults with empty estimates file: Provided information on how to test to the test team.
  • (CAS-7621) Residual image not correct when fitting a single change of an image cube with a 2D fit: Provided information on how to test to the test team.
  • (CAS-7584) no random number seed in ia.addnoise() ?: Updated docs as user requested.
  • (CAS-7697) imstat(axes[0,1]) does not compute min/max correct if all data masked in a channel: Fixed and casacore code merged.
  • Discussion with Urvashi re: problem with image masks being left open by casacore code, referred her to Ger for more info since I wasn't involved in the design or implementation of the casacore mask-handling code.
  • (CAS-7770) msmd.sourcedirs returns 0,0 for ephemeris sources: A bit of a confusing discussion regarding the initial requirements I was given for this feature vs what the user may actually want, which seem to me that may contradict each other. In progress.

  • Various tclean bug fixes

    • Fixed image lock issue for image concat stage in parallel cube tclean
    • Fixed to tuneselectData to be used only for cube imaging
    • Fixed the remaining bug on multiple channel selections
    • Cube tclean issue - fixed the cube image made in wrong direction for the start parameter specified by velocity for the data with descending channel frequencies
    • Still investigating - shift in frequency grid in the cube image from what is specified in the input

Friday NAOJ Meeting

    • 11 targets (in initial plan) + 6 tickets handled
    • 3 tickets slipped ( visstat2, calmode='otf', blfunc='sinusoid')
    • WEIGHT handlings splitted out as separate tickets ( averaging weight and smoothing weight)
  • CASA 4.5 developments
    • Line finding algorithm ( CAS-7000): Implemented a MAD based algorithm, similar to the one in pipeline.
    • Changed a value of avaliable choices of datacolumn parameter in new SD tasks from 'corrected_data' to 'corrected' to align with interferometer tasks.
    • Update of ATM library ( CAS-7510): No update
    • Minor fixes: a fix an issue of ASAP baseline function, a fix to a test data set ( CAS-6500)
