    • accepting all tickets
  • 5.5 Planning
    • Science requirements TBD early September
    • Design/documentation catch up and CASA 6 work in the interim

  • ALMA Cycle 6E2E tests: end-to-end test observations are delayed by snow storm at the site.
    • ALMA is under recovery from the snow. Array should be back in operation this week.
    • workflow tests using Cycle 5 E2E data should be able to proceed.
    • During shut down, some E2E6 projects are "observed" with Cycle 6 software in simulation mode but they are not valid for pipeline tests. Visibility and Tsys are dummy and causes a lot of problem when processed by pipeline. No indication simulation mode in ASDM.
  • Pipeline release branching for ALMA today or tomorrow.
    • Most of the feature developments planned are in place. Still a bit more imaging tickets left + tweaks may come.
    • several bug reports from lager test suites last week.
  • VLA developments will continue on trunk (VLA patch target date Mid October. VLASS SE IP one is TBD)
  • PWG has concern that casa-prerelease has been failing over weekend. Quick fixes are very much appreciated.
  • SRDP busy week planned in August 28-31.

  • Mosaic gridder problem (CAS-11653)
  • Parallel MMS processing: growing number of Helpdesk tickets
  • Knowledgebase section in CASA Docs? (HD NRAO-11642)
  • CASA Newsletter, release October: contributions welcome

Build, Release

Verification Testing

Validation Testing

Finished refactoring of asdmSummary, MS2asdm, asdm2MS, and bdflags2MS stand-alone executables into member functions of an sdm tool. This was about a three week effort. The importasdm task test has been refactored into a tool test for these methods. Now I will refactor the importasdm task to use this sdm tool along with an appropriate test.

Failing task unittests:
  1. test_bandpass
  2. test_flagdata
  3. test_imhead
  4. test_immath
  5. test_immoments
  6. test_mstransform
  7. test_partition
  8. test_specflux
  9. test_split
  10. test_tclean

      • wip Issue report: bandpass solution interval heuristics fails in high S/N case ( CAS-11749): problem understood. Thinking of how to fix it.
      • DONE add achieved sensitivity to aquareport ( CAS-11175): done. coordination with AQUA team OK.
      • DONE?: Error in image RMS calculation for wrapped image due to tclean ephemeris issue ( CAS-11742): investigated codes and explained why it fails. I don't think a fix is needed in pipeline. tclean should be fixed for ephemeris imaging ( CAS-11743)
