Development

• 5.3 needs to converge on a Release date

Pipeline

• Pipeline ALMA and VLAA science target development (non HPC related, 5.3 related) is actively proceeding on the pipeline trunk. This must be kept in mind when planning automated target testing campaigns, e.g. HPC campaigns. See CAS-11307, CAS-11308 which were found by developers and validation testers, but may take some time to fix.
• Lots of pipeline tasks generate warnings and error messages. Tickets should not be opened based on warnings and errors alone.
• Subtle numerical changes in CASA calibration code caused pipeline test to fail. Test numbers need to be fixed

HPC

• Pipeline+CASA issues - not specific to parallel
  • Current status with 5.3-prereleases: about half of the test datasets fail for various reasons.
  • Critical need for automated testing!
  • New issues last week:
    • CAS-11308 "Error in task hifa_imageprecheck: invalid literal for int() with base 10: '5,7,9,11'" - fixed
    • CAS-11307 "exportfits fails at the end of the ALMA pipeline: Value of keyword SPW will be truncated at 68 characters".
• CAS-11322 "Blockers for parallel use of ALMA pipeline".
• CAS-11320"Differences in serial and parallel pipeline runs for CASA 5.2 testing"
  • Mask issue ( CAS-11323)- could it be related to 1st point of CAS-11322? There was already CAS-10857.
  • Phantom SPWs issue: see recent discussion in CAS-7341.
  • CAS-11321 Warnings like "hif_makeimages Warning Check source fit for J0909+0200 spwd 17: offet 31.368marcsec 0.061beams fit flux 0.041Jy decoherence 27.925 percent" - where does this come from?
