Agenda:

  • VLBA Observations
    • August Daily Observation Report (https://safe.nrao.edu/wiki/pub/NM/Electronics/USNOVLBASupport/2018-08_USNO_Report_feedback.xlsx)
      • MK-SC baseline presented some difficulties that are being investigated
        • 0-codes, no fringes, or other issues that keep the number of scans lower
        • RFI filters at SC, combined with weak sources may have contributed to S-band flags (not X)
        • Weather and low elevation of mutually visible sources
      • MK is down through the next few days to replace a failed Az motor.
    • August Post-Monthly Report Review:
      • No issues seen. The backlog reported has been caught up on by the time of this meeting.
  • Open issues
    • Alternative Data Path

      • USNO is using MK-PT alternative data path successfully. LBO propose removing the dedicated USNO Mark 5C and using the new path only.

        • Data will be collected on the X-cube unit, but also recorded onto the non-USNO Mark5C unit in case this is needed
        • USNO confirmed that a transition to this approach is acceptable and LBO will begin this between October 10-20.
        • If any additional access by USNO is needed, they will contact Walter.
  • Networking Support Contract Renewal & Hardware Refresh
    • NAVSUP/AUI Proposal received for Networking Support.
    • Correlator HW Refresh RFQ will be coming soon, per Dave Hall.
  • LBO will get locks for SSD cases (~20) and ship to sites and USNO.
  • Next meeting on October 11th
