Agenda:
- VLBA Observations
- Action Items From December Daily Observation Report:
- G& H Codes:
- H-codes: Lower p-cal amplitude in 5th & 6th channel in MK. NRAO: ACTION we could increase amplitude across the whole band. We will investigate this.
- UPDATE: Andrew Smith covered investigation - speaking with LBO RFI expert, we are looking at RFI as the likely candidate for making Pcal amplitude look low relative to RF.
- January Daily Observation Report
- As expected, the MK FRM caused loss of fringes early in the month before it was identified and locked into place for S/X observations. The repair was completed by the middle of the month and the antenna is back to full observational readiness.
- Also positive is that system notes and flags seen by the LBO staff and M&C system are consistent and carryover into USNO analysis & results as expected.
- USNO: Had to apply a pcal adjustment at MK in February, which is abnormal. Pcal amplitude was very low, 1 X channel showed very large change in phase and all S channels showed some variation. LBO: We will look into recent runs to determine how consistent this is based on LBO data. It may imply a hardware-based cause.
- January Post-Monthly Report Review:
- No comments, the report is well received.
- Open issues
- SC Update & Fiber
- Operational Update: The antenna electronics are being turned back on and some replacement equipment or parts have been sent. More will as issues are identified.
- In the next few weeks LBO will send additional staff to work on the antenna. Lack of network is still an issue.
- The repair of S/X services will be prioritized.
- Fiber: LBO will likely switch to another provider that has higher bandwidth/gateways for use in the future. This is contingent on funding being approved soon.
- SSD shipments should be resumed once the antenna is working.
- Next meeting on March 8th
