Spectrum Analyzer Results

Methods

To assess the RFI environment over the PAPER receiver's frequency band, we decided to connect a spectrum analyzer to the antenna - balun - receiver setup and take data in chunks of ~1 hour a piece, using the Max Hold function on the spectrum analyzer to determine what parts of the spectrum are most impacted by RFI. Based on these measurements, we should be able to get an idea of where in the spectrum RFI poses the least threat, and create a bandpass filter centered on that less-affected piece of the spectrum.
