Supermassive Black Hole Measurements and Plans

Done

Galaxy Mbh 10^6 Notes
NGC 4258 38.2 done (Miyoshi et al/CfA group)
UGC 3789 11.2 done
NGC 6323 9.3 done
NGC 2273 7.6 done
NGC 6264 28.4 done
Mrk 1419 11.4 done
NGC 1194 64 done
NGC 4388 8.4 done
NGC 3393 31 done (Kondratko et al)
NGC 4945 1 southern target; VLBI quality not as good as others (Greenhill et al)
Circinus 1.7 determined by separating "disk masers" from "outflow masers" (Greenhillet al)
NGC 1068 15 "enclosed mass", not BH mass; rotation is sub-Keplerian (Greenhill et al)
TXS 2226-184 ~10 slow rotation; BH? (Ball et al)
NGC 3079 ~2 "enclosed mass"; messy disk (Kondratko et al)

Data in hand/ in progress

Galaxy Mbh 10^6 Notes
Mrk 1   All data in hand; Violetta made prelim map from self-cal track; Mbh in progress; needs maser position from phase-ref track
Mrk 1210   VLBA-only data in-hand; disk?
NGC 1386   public data; disturbed disk? old map from Braatz et al w/o GBT; new data will give better map
IC 2560   public data; Greenhill has prelim map; low declination
NGC 5728   Jim & Cheng-Yu made early map; puzzling structure; Cheng-Yu will review & improve
UGC 3193   Jim & Nicole Gugliucci were granted time; need to check status
Mrk 1029   VLBI data in hand; not yet processed
UGC 6093   VLBI data in hand; not yet processed
NGC 2824   Unclear whether this is a disk, but we will get a VLBA-only map of it to see; in queue but not yet observed

High Priority/ to be done

GalaxySorted ascending Mbh 10^6 Notes
J0836+3327 (CG 211) ~30 (Greenhill et al 2009; single-dish estimate) Phase-ref track by Kondratko likely failed
NGC 1320   to be done; high priority
NGC 2979   described as disk in Greenhill et al 2009
NGC 3735   described as disk in Greenhill et al 2009
NGC 5495   Phase-ref track by Kondratko likely failed
NGC 6926   to be done
UGC 9618b (VV 340a) ~70 (Greenhill et al 2009; single-dish estimate) Phase-ref track by Kondratko likely failed
UGC 9639   to be done; high priority

Other VLBI results/possibilities/watch list

Galaxy Mbh 10^6 Notes
IC 1481 <10^7 (Mamyoda); our VLA+PT data shows maser 0.8" from continuum
J0126-0417   < 20 mJy; 250 km/s
NGC 591   weak, only a few lines
Mrk 78   weak
UGC 5713   weak but looks like a disk spectrum
Mrk 34   weak but looks like a disk spectrum
NGC 4151   only a couple hv lines detected; highly variable
NGC 4968   very weak spectrum, but disky
J1346+5228   disky spectrum, good systemic features but only a couple of weak hv lines
NGC 6240   not clear this is a BH; weak and variable spectrum
J1658+3923   weak
J1939-0124   unclear whether hv lines are real
