Attendees: Kim, Pooja, Riley, Anish, Pedro
General
First time meeting Pooja. We go around introducing ourselves.
Status of the GBT proposals submitted in January: the special call proposal was accepted. Still no results from the regular call.
Cygnus X
Riley will upload the products he has generated to the shared astrocloud folder.
Kim goes over the procedure used to derive a continuum brightness map.
Anish asks if we do not have continuum information from the GBT observations.
Pedro will look at the data and generate continuum maps.
We should estimate how accurate the continuum will be.
Anish and Pooja were looking into using Planck along with RRL maps to estimate the free-free fraction.
For carbon, the line-to-continuum ratio should be a direct measure of the line optical depth. Under the assumption that the emission is dominated by masering effects.
For hydrogen, one needs the free-free emission only.
Kim has been looking at CO line ratios to assess the optical depth. Is it fair to look the ratio smoothed to 36'?
The cubes show structures that are smaller than the reported beam size in the headers. Why?
It seems the beam size is not reported properly in the headers.
Pedro will share the data for individual transitions with Anish.
Action items for the Cygnus X data
Produce coverage cubes.
Fix the beam information.
Fix the frequency information.
Decide on the best gridding parameters; What beam size to use?
Can we generate continuum information from the GBT observations?
