Where to Publish?
Regarding
where we will publish these articles, I am still not sure, but have some ideas. I would like to first gather all of them together, having written them as we like (i.e. not paying attention to bothersome editors that insist on making articles short). Since we have a significant group of papers, I believe that we have a fair bit of clout with any potential journal. The potential journals are, at the moment:
- A&A (their instrumentation section)
- PASP (we published our "SMT Overview" paper here)
- IEEE A&P (although I would likely have to discover a diamond mine in my back yard to afford the IEEE option!).
UPDATE 2005/11/14: I have contacted
PASP, and they have responded positively. It is to our advantage to submit by December 1, 2005 to avoid problems with the change in editors at
PASP.
- 2005/11/15: Final drafts of all articles listed above ready for review by authors.
- 2005/11/29: Submit all articles to PASP.
