Window Types

The window material is chosen from the leak rate measurement results, out gassing measurement results, and electrical characteristics as many other receiver have this type of window. Typically Emerson&Cummings Ecco foam PS102(dielectric = 1.02)is preferred; however, the supply is limited since this foam was manufactured with CFC's. Enough exits for the KFPA. The foam is covered with a water vapor barrier, typically Mylar, or Kapton. The results below are for the circular waveguide inputs and the rectangular wr42 waveguide outputs.

Circular

  • S11 results from a CST simulation for 0.7962" of PS102 with a 2 mil Mylar vapor barrier. Cirps102s11Mylar2.bmp
