Discussion
- Delivery may need to be delayed until later in September
- Benchmarks
- 3 to 15 station at 2gbit with single vs full polarization plot shows 15 station full polarization runtime at 85% observe time
- NRAO to do testing with Mark5
- Power and cooling
- Full correlator tests show three 20amp 240v PDUs won't be sufficient. Total draw is around 65 amps. Two options
- Add 4th PDU
- Move to 30amp 208v PDUs which would require rewiring at USNO
- Higher power consumption of 2.9GHz processors means 3.8 tons cooling not 2.5 tons.
- Networking
- Any new news or updates regarding local IT input ? Direct contact with them would be good.
- Need IP address for USNO DNS, NTP, SMTP servers
- Various minor issues documented here: https://safe.nrao.edu/wiki/bin/view/HPC/UsnoErrataIssues
- One bad compute node (glitchy network interface), replaced from test cluster
- Few minor glitches that need ironing out (rebooting nodes, etc0
