2011 Apr 27

  • The CMIB code that has been running on the correlator (racks 1-7) has been made 'official' and place in a new boot directory widar.20110427.
  • Reboots will occur from this directory, other than that everything else will remain as it was previously.
  • Additions/changes in this release since 2011-03-22.
    • CC error counters suppress phase error status when being fed from a recirculator in 'autocorrelation'.
    • RXP chips have soft reset capability based on latest update to the baseline board user manual.
    • Revised RXP and reciruclator LED color assignments and logic.
    • New ethernet FPGA binary and some driver changes to eliminate false startup errors on LTA interface lines.
    • CC array rephasing now feeds array with single 'good' data stream.
    • CC array rephasing lockout time reduced from 120 to 60 seconds.
    • Initial release of wideband gain-slope measurements.
  • All test XML has been placed in common area and old directories replaced with links. This affects 'socorroTesting', 'otsTesting', and 'productionTesting'.
  • The new location for board testing is /home/widar-boot-1/pc104-RHEL4u4/sandbox/CMIB/cmib_testing. CBE test XML is located nearby in cbe_testing.

  • 'widar-test' will resume as the test code directory and boot directory for station rack 8. Since baseline board rack 8 is assuming active participation in observations, it will default boot from widar.20110427. Testers can temporarily redirect booting for baseline board rack 8 if needed.
  • Links on cmibhost have been updated (i.e. /opt/widar now points to /home/widar-boot-1/pc104-RHEL4u4/sandbox/CMIB/widar.20110427)

2011 Mar 23

    • Timing FPGA binary version 0x072b installed to fix false dumptrig overrun errors.

2010 Nov 08 (assuming planned reboot)

New CMIB software (pending reboot on Monday 8 Nov).
  • BBs
    • new startup files with settings for the VDIF packet IP and MAC addresses (updated ethernet FPGA binary already in place/use) updated monitor data directory structures.
  • SBs
    • updated monitor data directory structures. more diagnostics installed to track hung delay model queues.

2010 Oct 20

New CMIB software installed with the power tests of 10/20:
  • Auto gain setting of sub band filter stages available through CM->CMIB interface
  • Changes to recovery algorithms for timecode errors and FPGA programming errors.
  • Additional parameters added to event logs.

2010 Sep 02

  • As of 17:00 on 09/02/2010 the cmibs have been running a new kernel module.
  • Changes to the module as well as user code include:
    • Change in CC auto reset timing to further avoid failed attempts.
    • CC auto reset considers 'frame_abort' state to avoid false no-toggle conditions.
    • 4-bit state counters have been corrected to properly bin state count statistics.
    • Baseline board rephasing has decreased duty cycle to avoid excessive cpu loading.
    • Task watchdog has been installed to auto-restart failed tasks and java servers.

2010 Aug 18

With the system wide reboot on 8/18, the following changes are now running:
  • Station Boards:
    • 'polarization' added to switched power table and vciConfiguration document.
    • Timecode Status LED on CPCC 'configurations' GUI indicates timecode - wall clock differential:
      • GREEN < 1 seconds
      • YELLOW <= 2 seconds
      • RED > 2 seconds
  • Baseline Boards:
    • Correlator chip configuration disable->enable delays are paralleled.
    • CC array rephasing during startup and from the GUI now use the same routine.
    • 'zombie' bit slaying in CC->LTA data bus is under automatic control by default at boot.
    • hopefully smarter LTA to LTA status LED on main GUI.

2010 Jul 06

  • New software is now active on the station board CMIBs and will activate on the baseline board CMIBs after a reboot.
  • Previous software version has been archived (/opt/widar.20100705)
  • Changes are for auto scaling when selecting 3-bit samplers and preliminary support has been added for the revised switched power table.
