Story Details

VE-357: Monitor frequency scripts/scans on 12/5

  • Joe and Ray found and fixed a bug in the LBW8 frequency switched mode and the VEGAS online data display

VE-358: Astronomical commissioning

  • Ryan has discussed plans with the scientific staff and asked Toney to schedule time for motion tests
  • Ryan will test all pulsar modes and do A/B tests on a bright HI source, and with a test tone injection, for FSW and TP spectral line modes 1, 4, 10, 15, 20, and 29

VE-359: Compare pulsar mode data to compare with GUPPI

  • This is in progress for data Ryan took during the Thanksgiving shutdown

VE-360: Acceptance testing

  • See VE-358

VE-361" Add in FITS MR into M&C

  • Joe added a table to the VEGAS engineering FITS files containing the location of the VEGAS ADC spurs
  • This was part of a previous MR and will be released with the new M&C release

VE-368: Add utils into repo

  • Ryan has done this
  • Joe is going to work on an install script

VE-305: Update release notes

  • Ryan still needs to do this

VE-312: Matrix spectral line regression testing

  • This has been done as part of preparations for the M&C release

VE-356: Troubleshooting performance issues

  • This is related to times that the net thread seemed to be overrunning the GPU thread
  • Getting inconsistent bandwidth to GPU
  • Joe is happy with how this looked during M&C release testing

VEGAS Pulsar Project Meeting - Sprint Planning: 2017 December 18th 2:00 - 3:00pm ET

Note: The team's "velocity" has been consistent at 11--13 points per sprint. We should aim for 12 points per sprint for planning purposes.
  • Joe will be moving on to 20-m work during the next quarter.
  • Ryan will support the planned release of the HBW modes and work on any additional tasks as possible
  • Not much additional work is expected during FY18Q2
