10-gigabit Network Tests

• Tests of UDP data transfer from cicada2 to east (one of the GPU machines).
• Used "net_test" code available via Bazaar from http://www.cv.nrao.edu/~pdemores/bzr/net_test
• Plot of various quantities versus UDP packet size. Values larger than 9000 B were actually split into more than one UDP packet due to the Myricom cards' MTU limit. In this test, data was sent as fast as the machines could handle it:
  

• In the next test, the data rate was reduced by having the sender wait for varying amounts of time between each packet. The plot shows how the slower data rates were handled by the receiver. For this test the packet size was held fixed at 8 kB:
