TGBT15A_915_140 - More tests of wideband configurations for C-Band, X-Band, and KFPA

Goals

  • Further tests of wideband VPM configurations for C-Band, X-Band, and KFPA for Tim Pennucci's GC magnetar project (AGBT17A _433)

Details

  • Session begins at 15:15.
  • Submitting VPM_C-Band_Test SB using vegas.scale = 14000 and rest frequencies of 4312.50, 5437.50, 6562.50, and 7687.50 MHz
    • Scans #1/2 are cal and search mode, with noise diode firing in each case for test purposes
    • Scans seemed to run fine
  • Submitting VPM_X-Band_Test SB using vegas.scale = 14000 and rest frequencies of 8562.50, 9687.50, and 10812.520 MHz
    • Scans #3/4 are cal and search mode, with noise diode firing in each case for test purposes
    • Scans seemed to run fine
  • Submitting VPM_KFPA_Test SB using vegas.scale = 14000 and rest frequencies of 19375.0, 20500.0, 21625.0, 22750.0, 23875.0, 25000.0, and 26125.0 MHz
    • Scans #5/6 are cal and search mode, with noise diode firing in each case for test purposes
    • Scans seemed to run fine
  • Will check frequency precision in shared memory viewers in coherent mode now
  • Submitting CoherentModeTests to take c0800x0512 and c0800x1500 cal mode scans
    • Got an abort, not sure why
    • Ah! It's the dopplertrackfreq issue! Added a ResetConfig command
    • The frequency precision looks OK except that Bank H is calculating the wrong center frequency. It's not getting the right sideband value for some reason.
    • Ray is trying to diagnose but doesn't see an obvious way this could happen
  • Cannot solve now. Will do some spectral line checks
  • Reverted back to old manager without the higher frequency precision
  • Session ended at 16:34
