Testing June 18, 2014

Goal:

  • Take some test Q-band data to show final ripple solution.
  • Look VEGAS data monitor (Joe Master's restarted server).
  • checking < 8 subbands
  • checking last integration blanking.

Info:

  • Session TGBT13B_502_67
  • Only going to run modes 1 and 2 because of the issues with the valon frequency

Log:

  • Scan 3: RippleQbandmode1. Running with all eight banks (both feeds) to check and see how the ripple is through the whole system. Oops! Only a 60s scan. Want to repeat with a 10min scan
  • Scan 4: RippleQbandmode1. Running 10min scan with all eight banks.
  • Scan 5: RippleQbandmode2. Running a 10min scan with all eight banks.
  • Scan 6: ! lessThanEightSubbands. Running a short scan with one subband and one beam. Looks good. One feed and one subband. The subband has the right frequency. 1 10s integration.
  • Scan 7: lessThanEightSubbands. Running a short scan with two subbands and one beam. Looks good. One feed, two subbands. Weird that there's two 10s integrations.
  • Scan 8: lessThanEightSubbands. three subbands and one beam. Looks good in the output. Also has two 10s integrations.
  • Scan 9: lessThanEightSubbands. Trying one subband and one beam. It has two integrations, so Scan 6 must be an anomaly.
  • Scan 10: lessThanEightSubbands. four subbands and one beam. Looks good.
  • Scan 11: lessThanEightSubbands. five subbands and one beam. Looks good.
  • Scan 12: lessThanEightSubbands. six subbands and one beam. Looks good.
  • Scan 13: lessThanEightSubbands. seven subbands and one beam. Looks good.
  • Scan 14: lessThanEightSubbands. eight subbands and one beam. Only seven subbands?? Double-checked script and reran.
  • Scan 15: lessThanEightSubbands. eight subbands and one beam. Has eight subbands. The seven subbands in Scan 14 must have been user error.
  • Scan 16: lessThanEightSubbands. 1 subband and 2 beams. one integration instead of the 2 we were seeing.
  • Scan 17: lessthanEightSubbands. 1 subband and 2 beams. one integration again.
  • Scan 18: lessthanEightSubbands. 2 subbands and 2 beams.
  • Scan 19: lessthanEightSubbands. 3 subbands and 2 beams.
  • Scan 20: lessthanEightSubbands. 7 subbands and 2 beams.
  • Scan 21: lessthanEightSubbands. 8 subbands and 2 beams.
  • Scan 22: lessthanEightSubands. beam one & 2 have seven freqs. beams >2 have 1 freq. Looks good. results as anticipated.
  • Scan 23: duplicate of last?
  • Starting last integration blanking testing.
  • Scan 24: LastIntBlankingTest_mode1. 40 s track with 30s tint. two integrations: one with 30s and one with 10s, which is as desired.
  • Scan 25: LastIntBlankingTest_mode1. 40s track with 40s tint. one integration as desired.
  • Scan 26: LastIntBlankingTest_mdoe1. 40s track with 60s tint. Wow, this was actually nice and produced the correct amount of data.
  • Scan 27: LastIntBlankingTest_mode1. 60s integration with frequency switching and 40s tint. Appears to be working. okay.
  • Scan 28: LastIntBlankingTest_mode4. 60s integration with tp and 40s int.
  • Scan 29: LastIntBlankingTest_mode4. 60s integration with frequency switching and 40s int.
  • Scan 30: LastIntBlankingTest_mode6. 60s integration with tp and 40s tint.
  • Scan 31: LastIntBlankingTest_mode6. 60s integration with frequency switching and 40 tint.
  • Scan 32: LastIntBlankingTest_mode9. 60s integration with tp and 40s tint. integrations looked right, but did see the weird screwed up spectrum issue (zero everywhere except for bit in center. Bit in center had HI line in it and looked okayish).
  • Scan 33: LastIntBlankingTest_mode9. Joe changed mode to 10, which reload bof and redoes the mode. That fixed the problem. what we really should have done was go to mode 8 (same bof, different nchan).
  • Scan 34: LastIntBlankingTest_mode9. 60s integration with frequency switching and 40s tint. looks good.
  • Scan 35: LastIntBlankingTest_mode24. 60s integration with tp and 40s int. looks good.
  • Scan 36: LastIntBlankingTest_mode24. 60s integration with frequency switching and 40s int. looks good.
