TGBT14A_912_12 - Bank H Balance Tests / Sawtooth problem tests

Goals

• Remove attenuator from output of VEGAS IF module in Bank H
• Check for the "sawtooth" problem

Details

• Run an SB which failed balanced before - RRLMode11TP_nodata - configures all Banks, but doesn't take data
• All balance ok, apart from Bank H adcpwr2 (J16) - sits at -38dB
• Jason takes a 15dB pad out from the ADC end of Bank H, J16. Now at -24dB. Try balancing again.
• No change. Jason takes out 10dB pad from the other end of the cable.
• Can now balance ok.

• Run RRLMode3TP, Mode4TP, Mode10TP in succession, looking for "sawtooth" data.
• Starts at scan 1... already have the problem.
• Abort Scan 2, conform parameters
• Scan 3 Mode3TP - still there (from data display)
• Turn Manager Off and On...
• Scan 4 Mode3TP - still there
• Go home for lunch and come back again. Check it is still there...
• Scan 5 Mode3TP - still there
• Try switching to Mode 4 TP
• Scan 6/7 Mode 4 - looks fine
• Back to Mode 3
• Scan 8 - problem is there still
• Restart Bank A only - see if the problem is still there.
• Scan 9 Mode 3 still there
• Ray restarts the bank A Roach
• Scan 10 Mode 3 still there.
• Try Mode3_different
• Scan 11 - still there (NB this is cross, so need to look at plnum 2 and 3).
• Ray puts in a different HPC program
• Scan 12 Mode3_different - still screwed up.
• Ray tries a different BOF File (from April)
• Scan 13 Mode3_different with Bank A only
• Ray switches back to original BOF file
• Scan 14 - problem is still there.
• Ray power-cycles the Roach
• Scan 15 - bad again
• Ray tries the old BOF again
• Scan 16 - looks good!!!!
• Revert to config files from 18th July
• Scan 17 - looks good! - using the new BOF (July 15 version)
• Ray keeps trying things most (all?) of scans 18-26, with different combinations, look bad.
• Ray puts everything back to normal (latest version)
• Scan 27 - still bad.
• Pack in for the day....
