TGBT14A_912_48 - back to back VEGAS / Spectrometer tests
Goals
- Run Jim Braatz KFPA observing scripts with Spectrometer and VEGAS - continued
Details
- Start at 8:00am
- Copy AGBT14B_342 eso558_acs and eso558_vegas to TGBT14A_912
- Run them back to back - four iterations of the NOD cycle
- Scan 1 - VEGAS is being written into the wrong directory - Aborts
- eso558_vegas.
- Scan 2 - 9
[13:12:26] Balancing VEGAS
[13:12:37] ERROR: Balance command has failed
[13:12:37] the following attenuators need further adjustment
[13:12:37] ConverterRack CMAttenuator1
[13:13:02] ERROR: Balance command has failed
[13:13:02] the following attenuators need further adjustment
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankFMgr lbw_gain,1
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankCMgr lbw_gain,1
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankBMgr lbw_gain,1
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankHMgr lbw_gain,1
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankEMgr lbw_gain,1
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankGMgr lbw_gain,1
[13:13:02] VEGAS,BankAMgr lbw_gain,1
- Bank A pol 1 is at -24Dbm. Just continue for now.
- run eso558_acs
- Get the following error (also for VEGAS):
[13:23:39] Warning: Configuration complete but inconsistencies were found between the M&C system and the configuration tool. Verify the configuration
[13:23:39] (manager, parameter, expected value, actual value )
[13:23:39] ('LO1', 'S10', '2', '1')
- Also, IF power level for port 1 is off optimal level by 3.16dB (presumably same channel as for VEGAS). Continue
- Scans 10 - 17
- Switch to one nod pair per SB, and continue to switch between _vegas and _acs.
- When VEGAS is running, continually get the lbw_gain error message.
- For a typical sampler (BankB, pol1, J3) from VEGASDM:
- input Sampler = -18dBm, FWHM ~ 50
- filtersnap - 26dBm, FWHM ~ 20
- filtersnap_nogain - 32dBm, FWHM = 0
- Maybe we are seeing quantization noise?? Unlikely - just a few bits toggling should be enough
- As expected, CM1 Attenuator is pegged at 0dB
