This workspace is intended to be used to plan NAASC tutorials and community outreach events for NA ALMA users. NAASC members should feel free to contribute comments / suggestions and ideas here. For the next six months to a year, the NAASC tutorials will focus on preparing the NA ALMA community for Early Science (ES) with ALMA. After that we will shift our efforts to educate the community about Full Science (FS) capabilities of ALMA. It goes without saying that since the capabilities of ALMA change with the addition of antennas, software and observing modes, the tutorials will need to reflect these changes so that we may communicate this information to the community in a timely fashion.

Community Outreach Subteam: Aaron Evans, Scott Schnee, Adam Leroy, Rachel Friesen, Kartik Sheth. The mission statement for the subteam is: "We will prepare and execute successful community training events and evaluate and improve the training to meet the needs of the ALMA community within the resources and framework provided by the NAASC and the project."

The main tasks of the subteam are:
  • Reading through the proposals
  • Planning our contribution
  • Staffing / preparatory material
  • Execution and evaluation of the training / virtual support during the training?
  • Lessons learned after each training
