surmiseConfiguration

Return to directory of Todd's CASA extensions

Compares the baseline statistics of an ALMA measurement set to the official configurations for the Cycle in which it was observed, and reports the closest matching configuration. Uses the configuration files in: os.getenv("CASAPATH").split()[0]+"/data/alma/simmos". If it is not an ALMA measurement set, then all configurations of all observatories are searched, so it will work the VLA data, etc. See also surmiseCycle and surmiseConfigurationFromASDM.

Usage:

au.surmiseConfiguration(vis, verbose=False)

Example:

CASA <14>: au.surmiseConfiguration('uid___A002_X36ffba_X1f.ms')
  Out[14]: 'alma.cycle0.compact.cfg'
