restFrequency

Return to directory of Todd's CASA extensions

Returns the list of rest frequencies for specified spw and source. It also prints the corresponding central velocity and velocity width. See also transitions, transition, radialVelocity and properMotion.

Usage:

au.restFrequency(vis, spw, source)
Inputs:
  • vis: measurement set
  • source: can be integer ID or string name
  • spw: spw ID

Example:

CASA <2>: au.restFrequency('calibrated_final.ms',0,0)
Velocity of central channel = 3409.333593 km/s (width = 6.774316 km/s)
Width of spw = 867.112454 km/s, 87.5% = 737.045586 km/s, half that = 368.522793 km/s
  Out[2]: array([ 6.91473076e+11])
