Usage of refraction

Return to directory of Todd's CASA extensions

Computes the refraction angle in arc seconds for the specified elevation and weather, using the formulae of Ulich (1981) and Brussaard & Watson (1995). More advanced formulae (from CSV-2934) may be added soon.

Usage: 

au.refraction(elevationDegrees, pressure=563, temperature=273, RH=20)
  • temperature: in Kelvin
  • pressure: in mbar
  • RH: Relative Humidity: in percent

Example: 

CASA <3>: au.refraction(30)
  Out[3]: 57.551410480194477
