nameforspw

Return to directory of Todd's CASA extensions

Reads the spw name in the NAME column of the SPECTRAL_WINDOW table of a measurement set. Obsoleted by msmd.namesforspws in CASA > 4.2.2. See also bandforspw, and getBand which does not require an spw or measurement set and simply takes a frequency.

Usage:

au.nameforspw(vis, spw)

• vis: name of the measurement set
• spw: the spw ID integer

Example:

CASA <2>: au.nameforspw('uid___A002_Xaec9ef_Xc9f.ms',17)
  Out[2]: 'X412246545#ALMA_RB_03#BB_1#SW-01#CH_AVG'
