getDiameterForObservatory

Convert an observatory name to an antenna diameter. This function is used to determine primary beam size from an image, which contains only the name of the telescope in the header, and no ANTENNA table.

Usage: 

au.getDiameterForObservatory(observatory)
Inputs:
  • observatory: Supported values = 'ACA', 'ALMA', 'VLA', 'SMA'
Returns: value in meters

Example: 

CASA <3>: au.getDiameterForObservatory('SMA')
  Out[3]: 6.0
