estimateMRSForConfig

Return to directory of Todd's CASA extensions

Reads an antenna configuration file (by default from the directory: os.getenv('CASAPATH').split()[0]+'/data/alma/simmos and computes the expected maximum recoverable scale in arcseconds based on the ALMA-accepted formula of 0.983*lambda/L5percentile. See also estimateSynthesizedBeamForConfig.

Usage: 

au.estimateMRSForConfig(config, frequency)

Example: 

CASA <2>: au.estimateMRSForConfig('alma.cycle4.5',275)
  Out[2]: 2.1832669422658788
