effectiveBandwidth

Return to directory of Todd's CASA extensions

Returns the effective bandwidth of a channel (in Hz or km/s) of the specified measurement set and spw ID. See also effectiveResolution and getChanWidths. Note: these values are correct only for ALMA data from Cycle 3 and beyond.

Usage:

au.effectiveBandwidth(vis, spw, kms=False)

Inputs:

• spw: spw integer or string ID or list of IDs
• kms: if True, then return the value in km/s (otherwise Hz)

Example:

CASA : au.effectiveBandwidth('uid___A002_Xa8bf04_Xf3f.ms', 37)
  Out[8]: 97656.25
