convolveTwoEllipses

Reads the beamsize from an image, convolves it with an auto-generated image of a 2D Gaussian of the specified FWHM source size (using makeGaussianForImage), then imfits the resulting image to yield the new expected size.

Usage:

tt.convolveTwoEllipses(img, bmaj=0, bmin=0, bpa=0, peak=1.0)
Inputs:
  • img: CASA image
  • bmaj, bmin: floating point value in arcsec
