CCigoletto

  • ALMA Review by CAA Mark is doing simulations for Roger Blandford, Tony Readhead, Mark Reid, and CO. They want to see a protoplanetary disk with 40, 50, 60 antennas.

  • New personnel: Postdoc hired--Tony Remijan.

  • Antenna news -- ATF.

  • ACA correlator PDR -- ALMA-J would like to hold the ACA correlator PDR, if at all possible on the week beginning 30 May and preferably back to back with the bands 4 and 8 PDRs. In the ACA Correlator PDR folder, you will find the CIDL and a format for the Compliance Matrix as well. I hope you have a chance to look at them. Rick's plan:
    • use a small number of on-site reviewers and a bank of remote reviewers; remote reviewers should read documentation covering at least their areas of review, and supply comments/RIDs in advance of the meeting to the chair and/or participate by video/phone at the relevant times.
    • I'd propose bilateral participation in the review to be: Chair = Laing, ALMA-B Reviewers (final list approval by chair, but might include:) On-site = Haupt (SE), Pisano (Computing), Webber (Correlator) and Baudry (corr + science); remote = Donoso (Site), Zivick (PA), somebody from ESO (management plan). Is there any need for participation by Safety?
    • proposed duration is two days; seems okay but the detail of agenda to be controlled by the chair.
    • there's a particularly interesting problem that we don't have science requirements or system tech requirements which incorporate ACA, so it's impossible to show the source of many requirements. I suggest we should see a draft of "+ACA" variants of those two documents at this review (or at least a summary of the anticipated ACA-unique additions). Final ACA high level documents are expected at the ACA System Design Review in September.
